My Place Anthology

The My Place anthology is a collection of 23 stories about the far west, almost all of them written by first-time writers.

The anthology was the result of the My Place community storytelling project, which was piloted in the red dust 160 kms west of Bourke at Kia Ora Station, in March 2015.

Since then, My Place events have been held on the fringe of Cunnamulla and 50kms north-east of White Cliffs, in the heart of the Paroo-Darling river plains.

The My Place stories were launched at a campfire event at Bourke’s Festival of 1000 Stories in September.

The Write Road thanks the following organisations for their support over the past year for this project: NSW Department of Primary Industries, Royal Flying Doctor Service, John Wallis Foundation, CentaCare Wilcannia-Forbes, Anglicare Southern Queensland and Paroo Shire Council.
